Guest Services Ambassadors Say “Bienvenue” to Our Guests

In New Orleans, a city with a solid French heritage, residents often welcome guests to their home by saying, “Bienvenue à la Maison” or simply “Bienvenue,” which means “welcome to our home” (or “welcome”). At the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, guests are welcomed to the facility with the same warm hospitality you’d receive at a relative’s home.

Our Guest Service Ambassadors (GSAs) serve as liaisons between the facility and its guests. Stationed throughout the Convention Center lobby, the GSAs’ demonstrate “Southern Hospitality” by greeting visitors upon arrival and directing them to their destination in the sprawling 3.1 million square foot facility. The GSAs are equipped with internet-connected tablets and are ready to provide guests with directions or information on local restaurants and attractions.

As part of the Center’s Public Safety Department, GSAs are trained to provide a welcoming and secure environment for attendees and are prepared to respond to emergencies. GSAs can be identified by their distinctive purple jackets. Feel free to seek out a GSA if you have any questions about getting around our facility.

Food Services

Whether you need boxed lunches for ten or gumbo for 10,000, Centerplate, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s exclusive food service provider, can turn out quality results for any size meeting. For attendees’ convenience, the Convention Center also offers retail cafes in the lobbies and a variety of concession stands in the exhibit halls.

Production Services

Our highly qualified and experienced production team offers a full slate of integrated services for all of your lighting, audio, video and rigging needs in-house or to support your selected contractor. The Center offers a full suite of HD video equipment for a variety of satellite broadcasts, presentations or recording formats and the trained personnel to design, capture and edit your program on-site. The New Orleans Theater offers a seating capacity of 4,000, and can be divided into three acoustically separate sections.

Production Services (A/V) An experienced production team plus state-of-the art equipment equals dynamic delivery – for even your most challenging requirements.

From general sessions to the most compelling concert entertainment, satellite links to video teleconferencing and meeting room speaker support with complete presentation options, all inventory and support is available onsite and can be competitively proposed.

Our qualified technicians design, install and operate the house sound systems, featuring the latest technology, to all of the meeting spaces including the 140 meeting rooms, the 11 exhibit halls, The Great Hall, and the near acoustically perfect theater.

When it comes to technology and communications, no other facility rivals our staff’s expertise or equipment. Our fiber optic backbone is 100% redundant and burstable to 10 gigabits per second. As a full service provider, the Center provides all cabling, networking equipment and support necessary to ensure reliable Internet connections for your attendees, exhibitors, contractors and staff.  The Center’s network distributes service anywhere in the facility.   Whether planning a large or small event, our team can customize to fit your needs. We have over 35 years of convention and trade show experience ready to build your vision. 

We offer free Wi-Fi in public areas to all of our guests. All you need to do is turn on your device’s Wi-Fi functionality and choose the ‘MCCNOFREEWIFI’ network.

Safety and First Aid

Building Security Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, please dial 504-582-3040.
You can use one of the many red phones located in the lobby areas.

Personnel
Security Officers are on duty seven days a week / 24 hours a day. MCCNO Security Officers are uniformed with the majority being first aid and CPR/AED qualified. 

When an event is occupying the center, you can look for Guest Service Ambassadors.  They will be wearing a purple coat and are available to assist.  They can assist with event information, local area information, and security issues.

Locations of first aid stations are listed below.  Availability of first aid stations is dependent upon event activity.

  • Medical 1 – Located near Hall B entrance
  • Medical 2 – Located near The UPS Store
  • Medical 3 – Located in Hall H entrance

Located in Lobby F, The UPS Store is self-service or full-service, depending on the customer’s needs. Remote business centers can be set up at event registration areas. Hours are tailored to meet the needs of show managers and attendees. A wide range of supplies and services including shipping, high volume copying, faxing, badge chains, etc., are available.
