New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority Maintains AA+ Bond Rating

Solid financial strength allowed the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority (“the Authority”) to maintain its AA+ bond rating from Fitch Ratings. Fitch also noted that the Authority’s special tax bonds have a “stable outlook.”  The Fitch Group is a global leader in financial information services including credit ratings that provide valuable insights for investors in long-term debt.  Fitch’s AA+ bond rating is one of the highest that can be achieved.

New Orleans City Business names New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center as 2018 Best Places to Work Honoree

New Orleans CityBusiness has selected the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center as a 2018 “Best Places to Work” honoree in the “Large Companies” category.

All 50 companies chosen will be honored at an awards event at noon Friday, Dec. 7, at the Hyatt Regency. The top three large and small companies will be announced at the event.

Construction Begins on Convention Center Boulevard

Construction has begun on the $65 million transformation of Convention Center Boulevard, stretching from Poydras Street upriver to Henderson Street. The project, approved in May 2015 by the New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority (Authority), the governing board of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will connect the expansive Warehouse/Arts District with the Central Business District and historic French Quarter improving the out-of-town guest experience for visitors while creating new outdoor attractions for residents.

Convention Center Hotel Economic Benefits to be Presented at Board Meeting

Draft findings by the consultant retained by the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority to study the economic benefits of the proposed Convention Center Hotel and related mixed-use development project will be presented at the Authority’s August Board Meeting.  This is the first formal step to begin earnest negotiations with the selected hotel developer.

Tickets for Chefs Taste Challenge: Battle of the Gulf Now on Sale

NEW ORLEANS – Tickets are now on sale for New Orleans’ premiere cooking competition, Chefs Taste Challenge, taking place on September 7, 2018. Michael J. Sawaya, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s new President/General Manager, began his tenure in his new position on February 19. Sawaya was chosen by the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority, the governing board of the convention center, from a deep field of experienced candidates after the Center’s previous General Manager, Bob Johnson, retired in September 2017 after ten years at the post.

(NEW ORLEANS) – Officials with the New Orleans Morial Convention Center today announced that the 2017 NOLA ChristmasFest shattered all previous attendance records since 2013 hosting an estimated 43,500 attendees during this season’s 11-day holiday extravaganza.
