Brad Feichter Named Event Manager at New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Brad Feichter has been named Event Manager at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO) – the sixth largest convention center in the nation. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for managing all aspects of the event planning process. As a liaison between the Center and clients, he will guide clients through event preparation and show set-up, monitor in-house events and oversee all related activities for his clients to ensure successful events.

$158.4 Million in New Tax Revenue Flows to City, State

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s operations and activities produced $158.4 million in new tax revenue and $2 billion in total economic impact on the Metro New Orleans area last year.

The 2016 Economic Impact Analysis, prepared by the University of New Orleans (UNO) Division of Business and Economic Research, showed that the Center hosted 128 events last year that attracted 616,234 out-of-town visitors.  Visitor and event spending, along with    …Continue Reading

Johnson’s Impressive Résumé Spans 46 Years in the Facilities Industry

NEW ORLEANS – Robert “Bob” Johnson, President and General Manager of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, concluded his impressive 46-year facilities industry career on September 25, 2017 – his 70th birthday. Johnson has served as the facility’s senior director since 2007.

NEW ORLEANS – More than 20,000 pounds of supplies – enough to fill a 20’ box truck to capacity, plus a trailer for overflow items – were donated by New Orleans residents for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas. Kaufman to Head Public Safety at New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Veteran facility operations professional Mark Kaufman, has been named head of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s Public Safety Department. Kaufman comes to New Orleans from AEG Facilities in Oakland, CA, where he served as Vice President of Operations.

As Director of Public Safety, Kaufman oversees all departmental operations and manages a staff of 73 public safety officers and administrative personnel. He is also responsible for implementing security measures at the Center, which hosted more than 128 events last    …Continue Reading

Employees Donate 3,840 pounds of food to Giving HOPE Charity

New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and Centerplate employees demonstrated an overwhelming spirit of generosity at the Convention Center’s annual “CANstruction” food drive.

Individual Convention Center employees made charitable donations to support the food drive. Centerplate, the Convention Center’s exclusive food and beverage provider, matched the Center’s donation and leveraged their purchasing power to buy canned goods in bulk for the donation.
