Beginning Monday, October 22 through Thursday, October 25 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily Convention Center Boulevard will be closed to through traffic from Julia Street to Calliope Streets. Police Officers will be posted at each intersection allowing all residents, workers and deliveries necessary access.
As Convention Center Boulevard is under construction, these measures are being implemented to provide a safe environment to the over 20,000 attendees of the Tableau Conference from all over the globe.

Beginning Saturday, September 29, traffic on Convention Center Boulevard will be re-routed to the river-side, with one lane in each direction. This condition will exist for the next several months during the construction of a pedestrian park from Poydras to Henderson Streets.
Congestion will be intermittently heavier when events are underway at the Convention Center, as will be the case beginning Monday, October 1, with 20,000 people attending the Water Environment Federation Convention.

All 50 companies chosen will be honored at an awards event at noon Friday, Dec. 7, at the Hyatt Regency. The top three large and small companies will be announced at the event.

Construction has begun on the $65 million transformation of Convention Center Boulevard, stretching from Poydras Street upriver to Henderson Street. The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center successfully conducted a Fire Drill on July 30 in cooperation with the New Orleans Fire Department. The 350 staff members of the Convention Center participated in the exercise in order to demonstrate their understanding of emergency evacuation procedures.
The emergency scenario simulated a kitchen fire in one of the employee break rooms. The alarm was sounded at 9 a.m., the building was evacuated, and the drill was ended just over 5 minutes later. …Continue Reading
Draft findings by the consultant retained by the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority to study the economic benefits of the proposed Convention Center Hotel and related mixed-use development project will be presented at the Authority’s August Board Meeting. This is the first formal step to begin earnest negotiations with the selected hotel developer.
