ACC returns to NOLA earlier than expected thanks to quality experience at MCCNO.
The American College of Cardiology (ACC), who held their annual session at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center just this past March, announced that they will be returning to the Crescent City in 2023. Already scheduled to return in 2026, ACC made the decision to return three years earlier than expected because of the outstanding experience, atmosphere, and organization that the destination of New Orleans and the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center provided to them.
“There is no way to understate the role that the Convention Center played in this decision,” said New Orleans Ernest N. Morial President Michael Sawaya. “On a daily basis, while the event was underway, the client and their 20 plus contracted vendors expressed how great the event was going. Our commitment to providing the best possible customer service is the reason why we have so much success drawing excellent clients like the ACC to our city.”
The ACC has over 52,000 members, including physicians, registered nurses, clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, doctors of pharmacology and practice administrators, specializing in cardiovascular care. ACC’s 2019 event in New Orleans attracted 18,500 people, generating almost $22 million in economic in impact for New Orleans
By the time ACC returns in 2023, the Convention Center will be well into a 5-year $557 million Capital Improvement Plan. These improvements include renovations of all 140 of its meeting rooms, bathrooms and pre-function areas, new digital signage systems, upgrades to the buildings’ escalators and elevators, and the new Pedestrian Park which will span the length of the Convention Center.
