Paul O’Connell Joins Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Staff

Paul O’Connell has been named Assistant Director of Production and Technology Services of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center – the sixth largest convention center in the nation. In his position he will assist the Director in leading and overseeing the MIS, Production and Technology teams while acting as a vital team member in the coordination and development of the short and long term technology plans of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
O’Connell has 20 years of experience in the convention industry, ranging from facility operations, technology and event sales. Recently, he served as Director of Operations at David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. As Director of Operations he provided specifications for contract services and worked with the Green Building Alliance to ensure compliance to gold standard “green” building requirements.
He also held positions at SMG Corporate Offices in Philadelphia, Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, SMG, and Hynes Convention Center.
