Helen Brett Enterprises (HBE), producers of the New Orleans Gift and Jewelry Show, designated their August show as a collection point for donations to South Louisiana residents recently affected by catastrophic flooding.
HBE generously provided donors with a voucher for a free guest badge, as a “thank you” for donating. Attendees donated 12,140 pounds of non-perishable food items, personal toiletries, cleaning supplies, and bottled water.

Drivers on the Crescent City Connection bridge, which connects the two banks of the Mississippi River in New Orleans, saw an interesting sight last Saturday morning: a crane parked in the emergency lane of the bridge, lowering a 1,500-lb piece of equipment 30 feet over the side of the bridge, to the roof of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center below.

Employees Donate 4,280 pounds of food to Giving HOPE Charity
New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center employees demonstrated creativity, engineering skills, and an overwhelming spirit of generosity at the Convention Center’s annual “CANstruction” food drive.
Each department was challenged to come up with the most creative representation of a Louisiana icon or landmark, using only non-perishable food items. Employees donated from their personal pantries and pooled their own money and resources together in order to build their canned goods masterpieces.

Through the power of entertainment, the non-profit organization “Comic Relief” raises awareness and money to help lift children out of poverty.
