MCCNO Staff Parades through French Quarter in Tourism Celebration
There is never a shortage of reasons to celebrate in America’s favorite city. New Orleans Ernest N . Morial Convention Center (MCCNO) staff joined New Orleans hospitality industry workers Tuesday to march in the Fourth Annual National Travel and Tourism Week Parade and Rally, which celebrated the industry that employs more than 75,000 locals and brings $6 billion to our city annually.

La. National Guard Honors MCCNO Staff Members for ‘Meritorious Service’
It was a sunny April afternoon that members of the Louisiana National Guard’s 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) last gathered on the familiar steps of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO). The brigade’s presence at the MCCNO is usually a stressful one, as they assemble to respond to disasters at the whims of nature. Morial Convention Center has named Alyssa Wenck as Director of Finance to oversee the accounting, exhibit services, purchasing and shipping, receiving and inventory departments. Wenck, a Certified Public Accountant, brings extensive experience and a proven track record of success in the financial area.

New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Extends Catering Contract with Centerplate
The Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority, the governing board of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, recently voted to extend its contract with Centerplate for hospitality services for the Convention Center.
Centerplate took over the food service operation in July of 2011 for an initial seven years, but a unique aspect of the contract is its “evergreen” element. Every year that Centerplate meets established performance thresholds, another year is added to the end of the contract.

National Customer Advisory Council Tours Great Hall Construction at MCCNO
Members of the New Orleans National Customer Advisory Council were escorted on a hard-hat tour of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s Great Hall construction project. The tour showcased the redesign progress of the building’s 60,300 square foot column-free ballroom, 4,000 square foot junior ballroom and new pedestrian plaza that will welcome visitors.
