The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has named Wen Lu as senior event manager. Lu brings extensive experience in all aspects of facility management including operations, guest relations, security, facility/organization startup, development, and marketing. He most recently served as assistant general manager at Hither House Cottages in Montauk, NY.
Lu’s facility management career includes stints at the nation’s most prestigious arenas and theaters. He spent four years at the Beacon Theatre, part of the Madison Square Garden group in Manhattan, NY, where he held the positions of guest relations manager, director of security and house operation manager. Prior to that, he served as general manager of the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA, and as a patron service manager and eventually house and operations manager at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
Lu further honed his leadership skills for several years as event manager at Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, California and as a commercial property developer in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Lu holds a Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. He is a 2nd degree Black Belt in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do and is fluent in three languages (English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese).
