New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Sales Manager Kelly Buchler Johnson has been named to the board of directors of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals, Louisiana Chapter (SGMP-LA) for a two-year term.
SGMP is a national nonprofit professional organization of persons involved in planning government meetings, either on a full or part-time basis, and those individuals who supply services to government planners.
As sales manager, Johnson is responsible for generating new business from the mid-Atlantic market, with the main focus on Washington D.C. Recent bookings include the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Veterans Small Business Conference and Expo and the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2011 National Weatherization Training Conference.
A graduate of Louisiana State University and Delgado Community College, Johnson is also a member of the Professional Convention Management Association.
