General Description:
The Assistant Director of Technology Services assists the Director of Technology Services managing the New Orleans Morial Convention Center’s Management Information Systems, Internet/Networking and Telecommunications Divisions and is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of all technological systems necessary to support the organization’s short-term and long-term goals.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training in a large convention or multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. . Proficiency in AD Administration required. Experience with V Sphere and VM Client management preferred.
Knowledge of Venue Management Software is a plus. Knowledge of and have direct experience with local area networks, micro-computers, custom applications development, database management systems and micro to mini connectivity; knowledge of wide area networking, including ECP/IP; Cisco based routing; knowledge of Ethernet switching and network optimization; knowledge of wireless technology to include A, B, G, N and AC protocols and
knowledge of Genetec System is a plus.

 

Technology Services- Network Manager

General Description:
The Network Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center’s network by providing leadership through the effective and efficient definition, design, monitoring and operational support of the data communications network. This individual shall be a self-driven, conscientious and detail-oriented individual with a passion for technology and a commitment to client satisfaction.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years supervisory experience desired. N+ and CCNA Certifications preferred. Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPSec, L2TP, PPP. SIP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, DHCP, DNS. RADIUS, EAP and Firewall technologies. Proven hands-on experience in tools to perform Traffic Engineering, Peering, Capacity Planning, and Intrusion Detection, SPAM control, network audits and security. Wireless systems and protocol, Xirrus experience preferred.

 

Public Safety- Fire and Safety Manager

General Description:
The Fire and Safety Manager is responsible for assisting the Public Safety Manager with the coordination and implementation of proper fire, safety and security procedures within the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for the proper training of new and existing employees and assists the Public Safety management with special projects.

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two to four years related experience and/or training in safety. Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred. Years of experience may be substituted for education. Certification in First Aid and/or CPR desired.

 

Event Services- Services Coordinator

General Description:
The Services Coordinator represents the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in all facets of the event from planning, managing and coordinating the daily operations of the Event Services Division’s service desk to execution on the exhibit hall floor, closing and continued follow up with exhibitors and clients. The Services Coordinator maintains close contact with clients and NOMCC staff and follows up on all client/exhibitor requests, concerns and problems to ensure successful events, increased revenue potential and repeat business. This individual exercises broad judgment in the execution of successful events.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one year experience in a customer service-related position, preferably in a convention center, large hotel or other meeting facility. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Must be able to work extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as event schedules dictate and have reliable transportation.

 

Production Services- Production Technician Salary: $19.23- $21.64/ hour

General Description:
The Production Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all audio, video, lighting, rigging and
A/V systems within the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for the set-up of
supplemental production equipment as well as the interface of outside equipment with in-house equipment.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience
and/or training. Rigging certification preferred. Strong working knowledge of television monitors, overhead, 35mm,
and LCD projectors. Familiar with the set up/dismantling of fast fold screens, audio mixers, small audio systems and
wireless microphones. Ability to operate CD players/recorders, various sizes of plasma/LCD monitors and interface
LCD projectors with laptops. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a basic working knowledge
of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

 

Refrigeration/ Kitchen Mechanic III Salary: $25.13/ Hour
FLSA Classification: Non- Exempt

General Description:
The Refrigeration/Kitchen Mechanic III is responsible for performing corrective and preventative maintenance on
all Refrigeration and kitchen equipment as well as assist with HVAC equipment maintenance throughout the New
Orleans Morial Convention Center.

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Technical school background in related field preferred. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Type Universal Card required.

 

Environmental Services- General Cleaning Foreman

General Description:
The General Cleaning Foreman is responsible for overseeing the overall cleaning of the interior of the facility. This individual shall monitor the cleanliness in the meeting room space, lobbies, service ways, office areas and food service areas to ensure that the facility is maintained in world-class condition.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two to four years related experience and/or training in housekeeping in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General Description:
The Facility Attendant II is responsible for assisting the Environmental Services Foreman in ensuring that the facility is maintained in world-class condition.

Financial Operations- Financial Operations Manager

General Description:
The Financial Operations Manager administers the work product of the Purchases and Payables Supervisor as well as the work of the Warehouse Supervisor. This position directs daily procurement processes and payments to vendors. The Manager oversees the planning, organizing and operation of the warehouse area. The Financial Operations manager monitors the accounts payable sub ledger, analyzes the monthly budget to actual numbers and compiles information for budget preparation, external audits and other projects. The position acts as liaison with the Financial Reporting Division to ensure purchases and AP are recorded to the general ledger.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university desired; and four to six years customer service and supplemental accounting experience and/or training preferably in a large convention and/or large multi-purpose facility. Public Safety- Assistant Director of Public Safety

General Description:
The Assistant Director assists the Director of Public Safety in the operational planning, implementation and supervision of all security/safety programs for the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for coordinating all security requirements in support of events, supervises Public Safety personnel,
oversees all facets of security training and investigations and assists the Director in the enforcement and adherence of all security, fire and life safety rules and regulations to ensure operational efficiency and public safety.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred. Minimum of three years in a supervisory or management position desired. Certificate from an accredited security venue may be substituted for years of experience. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays. Event Services- Secretary
Salary: $12.69/hour- $14.28/hour

General Description:

The Secretary of the Event Services Division is responsible for all of the supportive, clerical and office functions required to successfully assist clients, contractors, attendees and New Orleans Morial Convention Center personnel in the successful execution of events. The Secretary shall receive calls and respond to event requests via telephone, e-mail and/or radio in a professional manner. Perform routine and non-routine administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and six months to one year related experience and/or training in a clerical field. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights, weekends and holidays as show schedules dictate.

Public Safety- Guest Services Ambassador
Salary: $14.62-$16.44

General Description:
The Guest Services Ambassador (also known as GSA) is responsible for providing excellent customer service and creating an exceptional experience to all guests of the MCCNO. The GSA must be able to effectively communicate information verbally and graphically (via MCCNO provided equipment) regarding the event, building, and the City of New Orleans. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the GSA to maintain the cleanliness, comfort, safety, and overall appearance of his/her assigned area. The GSA must be able to offer assistance to attendees throughout all areas of the MCCNO. The expression “Going above and beyond” is a normal operating standard for this position. The GSA reports to the Public Safety Department as well as the Event Services Department at times. This individual shall serve as a Public Safety Officer on non-event days.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years security, safety and customer service related experience and/or training in the hospitality industry preferred. Certification in first aid and CPR desired. To perform this job successfully, the employee must have a basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiar with internet operations and have basic knowledge of iPad use.

 

Public Safety-Public Safety Officer
Salary: $12.69-$14.28

General Description:
The Public Safety Officer is responsible for performing duties associated with security, public safety, fire safety and emergency response in accordance with policies and procedures set by the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for protecting the building, personnel and guests against possible safety infractions and responds to and documents all incidents related to public safety.

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years security, safety or law enforcement related experience and/or training preferred. Certifications in first aid and CPR desired.  This individual shall be able to work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays, professionally interact with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations and have reliable transportation.
