Production Services- Production Technician
Salary: $19.23- $21.64/ hour
FLSA Classification: Non- Exempt

General Description: 
The Production Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all audio, video, lighting, rigging and A/V systems within the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for the set-up of supplemental production equipment as well as the interface of outside equipment with in-house equipment.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training. Rigging certification preferred. Strong working knowledge of television monitors, overhead, 35mm, and LCD projectors. Familiar with the set up/dismantling of fast fold screens, audio mixers, small audio systems and wireless microphones. Ability to operate CD players/recorders, various sizes of plasma/LCD monitors and interface LCD projectors with laptops. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

 

 

Technology Services- Network Engineer
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

General Description:
The Network Engineer is a well-rounded individual with experience working in mid to large size environments. A diverse technical skill set is required along with good client service skills. This position is responsible for overseeing the constantly changing day–to-day operations of the wired (copper & optical) and wireless infrastructure of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. The successful candidate will be a vital team member in the coordination and development of the short term and long term technology plans of the Convention Center.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred. Experience with TCP/IP networks, Firewalls, VMware, Debian Linux, & Network Storage is required. CCNA required, must be able to pass Cisco CCNP within six months of hire date. CISSP and wireless certifications are a plus. ISP experience is also plus.

 

Event Services- Secretary- Temporary Position
Salary: $12.69- $14.28/ Hour

General Description: The Event Services Department of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has an immediate opening for a temporary Secretary. The Secretary is responsible for all of the supportive, clerical and office functions required to successfully assist clients, contractors, attendees and New Orleans Morial Convention Center personnel in the successful execution of events.

Qualifications: Six months to one year related experience and/or training in a clerical field and a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The duration of this assignment will be dependent on the recruiting process for the full time Secretary vacancy.

General Description: The Secretary of the Event Services Division is responsible for all of the supportive, clerical and office functions required to successfully assist clients, contractors, attendees and New Orleans Morial Convention Center personnel in the successful execution of events.

Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and six months to one year related experience and/or training in a clerical field. Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

 

Event Services- Receptionist
Salary: $12.69- $14.28/ Hour

General Description: The Receptionist is responsible for fielding incoming calls for the company, answering questions of callers and/or transferring callers to the appropriate station.

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication skills, excellent articulation and command of the English language are required. Experience in a high-volume call setting preferred. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays as show schedules dictate.

 

Production Services- Production Systems Technician
Salary: $21.15-$23.80/Hour

General Description:
The Systems Technician – is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of electrical installations and audio, lighting, and rigging systems of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for monitoring, repairing and installing electrical and computerized audio, lighting, and rigging equipment according to established industry guidelines, local and national codes.

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and a minimum of 4 years related experience and/or training in electronics or robotics; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with the repair of delicate electronics required. Supervisory experience desired. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Ability to provide detailed documentation related to device and system modifications in order to correct functional deviations and familiarity of network and audio and lighting systems required. Knowledge of LAN network including fiber optics a plus. The individual must be able to install, repair and/or maintain audio, video, projection systems and programmable logic controls as well as be able to setup, calibrate and troubleshoot theatrical sound and lighting equipment and evaluate performance of parts assemblies or systems under simulated operating conditions. Must be able to perform job duties under minimal supervision ,work extended/ irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays as building operations require.

 

Technology Services- Supervisor
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

General Description:
The Technology Supervisor, under the direction of the Technology Manager and Assistant Technology Manager, is responsible for overseeing all day to day work of Technology Services personnel and supervises and assists with the set-up, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of all network-related services and equipment within the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred and two to four years’ experience in a networking position; Minimum of two years’
experience in a supervisory level position desired. N+ Certifications and experience in WiFi preferred.

 

Electrical- Electrician III
Salary: $24.88/Hour
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

General Description:
The Electrician III is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical installations and systems of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for monitoring, repairing and installing all electrical equipment according to established industry guidelines, local and national codes.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background or apprenticeship program
preferred. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Class D City of New Orleans Electrical License required.

General Description:
The Refrigeration/Kitchen Mechanic III is responsible for performing corrective and preventative maintenance on all Refrigeration and kitchen equipment as well as assist with HVAC equipment maintenance throughout the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background in related field preferred. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Type Universal Card required.
