General Description:
The Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting and soliciting event space sales for the New Orleans Ernest N.
Morial Convention Center, with an emphasis toward new business development by promoting and increasing the
awareness of the Convention Center to accounts in assigned markets and assists the sales team and hospitality
community as required. This individual shall work cooperatively and expeditiously with the NOMCVB and peer
groups within the hospitality industry on the planning and execution of joint sales efforts.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience
and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility desired. CMP, CEM or CGMP designation
preferred. Ability to work under minimal supervision, work extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends
and holidays as necessary and travel required. Salary: Commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates

Operations Administration- Director of Building Operations
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

General Description:
The Director of Building Operations is responsible for the coordination and administration of special / capitalconstruction
projects (as defined by Vice President of Operations), building maintenance and the building
management systems of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center ensuring the efficient operation of the facility.
This individual shall research and analyze products and systems and oversee and schedule building maintenance
repairs and renovations. This individual shall work with and support the Director of Event Operations to ensure
successful and efficiently managed events.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
in engineering or architecture; and four to six years project management and building maintenance experience
and/or training in a large convention and/or multi-purpose facility desired. Minimum of three years in a supervisory

Event Services- Event Manager

General Description:

The Event Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of event coordination and interfacing between clients and New Orleans Morial Convention Center departments, with a goal of maximizing client satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Event Manager shall be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations with a goal of having the client become or continue as a repeat customer.  This individual must b e able to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, multi-task, perform under minimal supervision and work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays as show schedules dictate.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training in event coordination in a convention center, large hotel, or other large meeting facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Electrical Services – Electrician III Salary: $22.54

General Description:
The Electrician III is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical installations and systems of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.  This individual is responsible for monitoring, repairing and installing all electrical equipment according to established industry guidelines, local and national codes.

Qualifications:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background or apprenticeship program preferred.  Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Class D City of New Orleans Electrical License required.

 

Sales Manager- Trade Shows & Conferences-

General Description:
The TSC Sales Manager is responsible for managing all sales-related activities associated with events managed or contracted by the department.  The primary responsibility is to execute trade show exhibit and sponsorship sales, provide excellent customer service and benefit fulfillment in regards to all MCCNO Trade Shows & Conferences events and exhibitors.  Sales efforts include identifying and closing exhibit sales, sponsorships, advertising sales, and any other sales opportunities related to MCCNO Trade Shows & Conferences events or clients.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training in sales and marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Three years experience in tradeshow and conference sales, sponsorship and/or marketing management desired.  Thorough understanding of complex budgets, as well as the ability to create event financial reports and provide detailed forecasts, ability to work irregular/extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays and ability to travel required.  Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.  Experience in working with and managing CRM Systems, specifically data management, workflow processes, dashboard essentials, task automation and cloud service integration preferred.  Experience with ZOHO CRM a plus.

 

Sales and Marketing- Receptionist
Salary: $12.69-$14.28

General Description:
The Receptionist is responsible for fielding incoming calls for the company, answering questions of callers and/or transferring callers to the appropriate station.

Qualifications: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication skills, excellent articulation and command of the English language are required. Experience on a PBS systems including Shoretel, Evolution or Polycom preferred.  Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, days, weekends and/or holidays. as show schedules dictate.

 

Plant Maintenance- Engineer III Salary: $24.34

General Description:
The Engineer III is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Physical Plant and HVAC systems of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.  This individual monitors all systems as to the proper and safe limitation of plant equipment in accordance with industry guidelines.

Qualifications:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background in related field preferred.  Four to ten years related experience and/or training.  Second Class Stationary Engineer’s license with A/C and Boiler endorsements and Universal Refrigeration license required.

 

Public Safety- Guest Services Ambassador
Salary: $14.62-$16.44

General Description:
The Guest Services Ambassador (also known as GSA) is responsible for providing excellent customer service and creating an exceptional experience to all guests of the MCCNO. The GSA must be able to effectively communicate information verbally and graphically (via MCCNO provided equipment) regarding the event, building, and the City of New Orleans. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the GSA to maintain the cleanliness, comfort, safety, and overall appearance of his/her assigned area. The GSA must be able to offer assistance to attendees throughout all areas of the MCCNO. The expression “Going above and beyond” is a normal operating standard for this position. The GSA reports to the Public Safety Department as well as the Event Services Department at times. This individual shall serve as a Public Safety Officer on non-event days.

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years security, safety and customer service related experience and/or training in the hospitality industry preferred. Certification in first aid and CPR desired. To perform this job successfully, the employee must have a basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiar with internet operations and have basic knowledge of iPad use.

 

Public Safety-Public Safety Officer
Salary: $12.69-$14.28

General Description:
The Public Safety Officer is responsible for performing duties associated with security, public safety, fire safety and emergency response in accordance with policies and procedures set by the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for protecting the building, personnel and guests against possible safety infractions and responds to and documents all incidents related to public safety.

Qualifications:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years security, safety or law enforcement related experience and/or training preferred. Certifications in first aid and CPR desired.  This individual shall be able to work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays, professionally interact with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations and have reliable transportation.
