General Description: The Director of Event Services is responsible for the event management staff that arranges, coordinates and supervises of all events held in the New Orleans Morial Convention Center and ensures maximum client satisfaction and enhances and promotes repeat business.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business management or related field; and six to ten years related experience in a large scale convention and/or multi-purpose facility preferred. Five years related experience in a major administrative capacity desired. Food and Beverage and public admission experience a plus. (Education to experience ratio accepted) CMP desired.
General Description: The Public Safety Officer is responsible for performing duties associated with security, public safety, fire safety and emergency response in accordance with policies and procedures set by the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for protecting the building, personnel and guests against possible safety infractions and responds to and documents all incidents related to public safety.
Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years security, safety or law enforcement related experience and/or training preferred. Certifications in first aid and CPR desired. This individual shall be able to work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays, professionally interact with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations and have reliable transportation.
Part-time Parking Attendants are needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
The Facility Attendant I is responsible for performing the duties necessary for the cleanliness of exhibit hall space, parking lots and the exterior grounds of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
The Desktop Technician is responsible for providing end user support to the New Orleans Morial Convention Center Staff. This individual shall be detail-oriented, results driven, flexible and able to perform duties in high pressure situations. The Desktop Technician shall have an extensive knowledge of industry standards related to PC hardware/software environments and demonstrate an intermediate to advanced understanding of networking, including printing, file storage and desktop business applications. Qualifications: Associates degree from two-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with all aspects of Windows 7, PC administration, and Exchange email system support. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Window PC and VMware environments and server services. Must be capable of developing PC-related standards, procedures and processes.
The Technology Technician is responsible for assisting in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of all network related services for events as well as administrative staff of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual works closely with full time technicians on show related installs and building projects and is responsible for all moves, adds or changes within the Technology Services Department. Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Excel and Word required. Certifications desired: A+ and/or N+.
The Market Research Analyst is primarily responsible for preparing departmental reports, obtaining historical information on events and conducting surveys of industry trends. Qualifications:Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two to four years related experience and/or training in a large convention and/or multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional Research Certification from MRA preferred. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Experience with Navision or Concentrics preferred.
