General Description: The Director of Event Services is responsible for the event management staff that arranges, coordinates and supervises of all events held in the New Orleans Morial Convention Center and ensures maximum client satisfaction and enhances and promotes repeat business.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business management or related field; and six to ten years related experience in a large scale convention and/or multi-purpose facility preferred. Five years related experience in a major administrative capacity desired. Food and Beverage and public admission experience a plus. (Education to experience ratio accepted) CMP desired.
General Description: The Engineer III is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Physical Plant and HVAC systems of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual monitors all systems as to the proper and safe limitation of plant equipment in accordance with industry guidelines.
Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background in related field preferred. Four to ten years related experience and/or training. Second Class Stationary Engineer’s license with A/C and Boiler endorsements and Universal Refrigeration license required.
General Description: The Communications Coordinator performs all clerical and administrative duties necessary to support department management and senior- level staff including overseeing special projects as assigned. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for maintaining online media and news distribution, updating the company website with event information, employment opportunities and news releases and organizing and maintaining inventory of collateral materials, promotional items and office supplies.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent organizational, verbal and interpersonal skills and proficiency in typing, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Demonstrated ability to learn various software programs. Proficiency in web design and content management systems preferred.
General Description: The Dispatcher/ Quality Control Coordinator is primarily responsible for the dissemination of information related to events, maintaining a log of incoming and outgoing radio transmissions, and inspection of areas related to event set ups for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; and one to two years related experience and/or training in housekeeping and set-ups in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
General Description: The Public Safety Officer is responsible for performing duties associated with security, public safety, fire safety and emergency response in accordance with policies and procedures set by the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. This individual is responsible for protecting the building, personnel and guests against possible safety infractions and responds to and documents all incidents related to public safety.
Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years security, safety or law enforcement related experience and/or training preferred. Certifications in first aid and CPR desired. This individual shall be able to work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays, professionally interact with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations and have reliable transportation.
General Description: The Equipment Mechanic III (Plumber) is responsible for maintaining the flow of water, air, gases and drainage throughout the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.
Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical school background in related field preferred. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman plumber license required.
