 General Description: The Public Safety Shift Supervisor assists the Senior Supervisor in the operation of their respective shifts.  This individual is responsible for overseeing the Public Safety Supervisor and Officers and protecting the building, personnel, clients and guests from possible safety hazards and responds to and documents all incidents related to public safety.

Qualifications:  Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; two years supervisory experience in a security, safety or law enforcement related field required. Years of experience may be substituted for education.  Certification in First Aid and CPR desired.  Must be able to work  extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays.  Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word required.

 

Human Resources Clerk- Temporary Assignment

General Description: The Human Resources Clerk will assist the Human Resources Manager with a wide range of projects related to performance management, benefits and recruiting.  This assignment will consist of mainly data entry duties.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously; Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.    This is an eight (8) week assignment with flexible hours (15- 20 hours a week).

 

Event Services-Cad Operator

General Description: The Cad Operator is responsible for assisting the Event Services, Production Services and Operations Departments in producing floor plans and diagrams for events as needed.  This individual is also charged with assisting the Graphics & Drafting Specialist in the creation of all revenue generating graphics and special projects on an as needed basis including and during “Rush Hours”.  

Qualifications:  Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be proficient in various graphic design programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, RIP Printing software, Raster Link Pro and AutoCAD.2012 or equivalent.   Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF and Wide format Scanning Programs required. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays as show schedules dictate and able to work in a fast paced environment.

General Description: The Part Time Services Coordinator represents the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in all facets of the event from planning, managing and coordinating the daily operations of the Exhibit Services Division’s service desk to execution on the exhibit hall floor, closing and continued follow up with exhibitors and clients.  The Part Time Services Coordinator maintains close contact with clients and NOMCC staff and follows up on all client/exhibitor requests, concerns and problems to ensure successful events, increased revenue potential and repeat business. 

Qualifications:  High School Diploma and two to four years related experience and/or training.  Minimum of one year experience in a customer service-related position, preferably in a convention center, large hotel or other meeting facility.  Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.  Must be able to work extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as event schedules dictate and have reliable transportation.  College students are encouraged to apply.

General Description: The Accounts Receivable Clerk assists and performs the day to day functions within the Exhibit Services Division that pertain to accounts receivable. This individual is responsible for processing billings and payments, maintaining accounts receivable aging and researching and resolving aged accounts, and assisting with month end reconciliations.

Qualifications:   High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  College, vocational or business school coursework with an emphasis in accounting preferred.  Minimum of one year experience in a related accounting function; knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures required

General Description: The Facility Services Foreman is responsible for overseeing the general housekeeping and meeting facility set-up of the New Orleans Ernest N. Qualifications: Associates degree from a two year college or technical school; and two to four years related experience and/or training in housekeeping and set-ups in a convention, hotel and/or large multi-purpose facility preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory role desired.  Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

General Description: The Senior Event Manager is responsible for assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Event Services in the arrangement, coordination and supervision of events held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to ensure maximum client satisfaction and enhance and promote repeat business.  This individual shall demonstrate knowledge of management techniques and technical expertise in the areas of event booking, event planning, food and beverage operations, multi-purpose facility operations, as well as security and crowd management procedures to ensure efficient and effective event operations.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; and six to ten years related experience and/or training in event management in a convention center, large hotel or other large meeting facility in tier one and two cities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience in arenas, stadiums, theaters and amphitheaters a plus.
